Who is Nathan? Dr. Nathan Klingbeil is a professor of mechanical engineering and Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at WSU. He received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1998. Prior to his current work, he worked as a materials research engineer at AFRL, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate. Dr. Klingbeil is the lead investigator for WSU’s National Model for Engineering Mathematics Education. Prior to his appointment as dean, Dr. Klingbeil served as senior associate dean, associate dean for academic affairs, and director of student retention and success for the College of Engineering and Computer Science. He is a three-time recipient of the college’s Excellence in Teaching award, and he held the title of Robert J. Kegerreis Distinguished Professor of Teaching from 2005-2008.
