The applications for the 2018 event, “3D: Dream. Dare. Decode.” have officially closed. The event will take place at Wright State University’s Student Union on March 9, 2018. The audition process will begin shortly and volunteers are still being sought to help with audience engagement, stagecraft, and social media. Applications for volunteers are available at here.

“In 2017, students from more communities and schools in the greater Dayton area auditioned, including home school students,” said TXYD chairperson Rachel Graves, “The event last March was a huge success. TEDxDayton patrons have supported our efforts to bring the TEDx model of locally organized events with ideas worth sharing to the youth of the Dayton area.”

The TEDxYouth@Dayton event is open to the public. Registration for attendees will open in early January, tickets will be a suggested $10 to attend and will be available the day of the event to those that have pre-registered.

WHAT IS TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxDayton, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxDayton event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
